What is this letter for?
A CCA request asks a lender or debt collector to send you a copy of your credit agreement and a statement of account. Under sections 77 to 79 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (for loans, credit cards, store cards and similar regulated credit) you send a written request with a £1 fee. The creditor has 12 working days to respond; while it fails to comply, it cannot enforce the agreement, although the debt still exists and it must be dealt with eventually.
Where do you send it?
Send it to the company currently asking you to pay (creditor or debt collector) by recorded delivery.
Does it need to be notarized?
